Cross Stitch gets a Makeover - with Sophie Simpson

Until not that long ago, Cross Stitch had a dated name for itself. Although remaining popular over the passages of time, and often perched on many a G'ma's knee - it's image was not a modern one. Until recently that is...

Sophie Simpson - aka the creative talent behind the modern embroidery business "What Delilah Did" and author of the fabulous "Storyland Cross Stitch" has changed our jaded memories of what cross stitch used to be about.

Move over memories of granny's old fashioned landscapes and cartoon animals, - this is the new modern side to Cross Stitch, full of Sophie's fairytale designs and cute projects to make.

So we wouldn't believe our luck when Sophie agreed to come and teach a brand new special workshop just for us: The "Learn Counted Cross Stitch" workshop - the first of which is on Saturday 28th June at The Fluff-a-torium in Dorking from 10am - 4pm (booking essential!)

Sophie will introduce you to a variety of counted embroidery stitches, from basic straight and cross stitches to more elaborate herringbone and Smyrna stitches. You will learn how to follow a counted embroidery chart and gain an insight into how the various techniques can be applied to a number of different projects and materials. All whilst making this cute little coin purse below!

Beginners are welcome and no experience is required.

Maximum students per course is 10 and the cost is £75. For a 10% off code, visit our Facebook page!

The fee includes all course materials, drinks, biscuits and terribly British afternoon tea and cake. Plus you will also be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Fluff-a-torium" on the day of your counted embroidery course! Click here to making a booking online or call us on 01306 898144
